Hell Motel Episodes 4 | (2025) Full TV Recap | Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Episode 4 of Hell Motel kicks off with the group—Paige, Andy, Blake, Adriana, Kawayan, Floyd, and Shirley—reeling from Crow’s death, debating who killed him and what to do with his body. Kawayan, with his questionable pulse-checking skills, pronounces Crow dead, and he and Floyd haul the body to cold storage. Unseen by others, Floyd ensures Crow’s permanent silence, squeezing out any lingering life. Back in his room, Floyd discusses the mysterious “third killer” with Shirley, who suspects Kawayan and schemes to recruit him to their side, fearing he might target them next. Shirley visits Kawayan, probing for a confession, but their conversation veers to his macabre art, where he uses his own blood to honor the dead. Impressed—or perhaps desperate—Shirley offers her blood for his work, misreading his gothic tendencies as evidence of murderous intent.

The group gathers in the dining room, plotting a 25-mile trek to the nearest town to escape the killer lurking among them. Floyd, secretly aiming to sacrifice the group to summon Baphomet, opposes the plan, citing dangers in the wilderness. Kawayan, Andy, and Blake are ready to risk it, while Paige objects, and Adriana wavers. As Kawayan and Andy step outside, they’re confronted by Crow’s severed head on a pike, followed by an attack from a masked killer. They fight back, but Andy’s injuries force Kawayan to drag him back inside. Adriana witnesses the assault but freezes, unable to act. The show hints that Floyd might be the masked figure, though it’s unclear if he was outdone by the elusive third killer.

Paige tends to Andy’s wounds, oddly thrilled by his “badass” scars, revealing her inconsistent reactions to violence. Meanwhile, Blake, paranoid after the attack, demands everyone show their shoes, suspecting muddy boots will reveal the culprit. Shirley presents clean boots for herself and Floyd, deflecting suspicion, though no one questions why Floyd isn’t wearing them. The group’s shock seems to dull their logic, letting Floyd and Shirley roam freely. Shirley persists in accusing Kawayan, but he shuts her down, seeing through her manipulation.

Flashing back 30 years, we learn about Floyd and Shirley’s origins. A young Shirley, obsessed with the occult, tracks down Floyd, a former musician, and barges into his life, ranting about God, Satan, and free will. She convinces him for a summoning ritual at the Cold River Motel, believed to be an energy cluster for contacting Baphomet. The flashback feels rushed and poorly integrated, a weak attempt to flesh out their motives that highlights the show’s shaky storytelling.

Floyd and Shirley, intent on “culling the herd,” ambush Kawayan in his room, brutally gutting him. Clinging to life, Kawayan witnesses a figure—possibly Baphomet or someone in a Baphomet costume—turn his body into a grotesque art piece with fake flowers. Conveniently, Andy discovers the body soon after, raising questions about the timing. The episode suggests Blake might be involved, possibly slipping out to “get cards” while Floyd and Shirley attacked, then finishing the ritualistic display. The inconsistent execution of the sacrifices—Crow’s simple death versus Kawayan’s elaborate one—muddies the narrative, leaving viewers puzzled about the killers’ methods and motives.

Episode 4 amplifies the supernatural hints from Crow’s past encounter with Caitlyn’s ghost and Renee’s Baphomet sighting. Kawayan’s vision of Baphomet, paired with Floyd and Shirley’s ritualistic ambitions, suggests a malevolent force may indeed stalk the motel. Yet, the show’s sloppy writing—convenient plot devices, illogical character choices, and rushed backstories—undermines its potential, leaving viewers frustrated. Is Blake the third killer, or is Baphomet real? The answers remain elusive, setting the stage for more chaos in the next episode.[wide]
